Mexico Site Production Technology Team Francisco Segovia Hernandez- Q. What's your current job?
- I perform all relevant works to ensure efficient production of the developed items. First, I design, manufacture, and improve jigs and fixtures to process developed items or parts. Second, I perform process design to set the work order, facility layout, and working time by analyzing the characteristics of facilities and the products. Third, I resolve all the problems caused from production. In other words, when a defect occurs in the process or operation, I analyze the cause and take proper actions.
- Q. What qualifications and requirements are needed to perform your job?
- We need an ability to prepare, design, improve manufacturing and production, to analyze process procedures, and to manage indicators. In addition, expertise in the process design is critical as well to eliminate waste from manufacturing process and to increase innovation and productivity with cost reduction. Also I find it very attractive to have an opportunity to learn new things everyday and work with the people dedicated to their goals.
- Q. When do you feel rewarding at work?
- In order to improve production capacity through efficient work, I have changed many project sites' process lines. I feel rewarding when the proposed improvement plan is applied to the job and it contributes not only to improving the production capacity but also to achieving the targets ahead of our original plan. And I feel satisfied when my team members work together and move forward to the same goal.
- Q. What is your dream to realize with Valeo Kapec?
- If the production lines are deployed according to the process design, it will be very difficult to change, and there will be a lot of economic loss if a problem occurs. So they must be designed from a long-term perspective considering operation management and efficiency. Mexico Corporation is currently building a range of product lines. I would like to contribute to creating the best production efficiency through optimized process design.
